Immunisations

Need a travel vaccine in Canberra? Our team of medical practitioners prescribe immunisations, where relevant, to keep you healthy on your travels. Administered by trained registered nurses, available vaccines include the routine (e.g. measles, mumps, rubella, and influenza), and the more complicated (e.g. yellow fever). We also provide all associated international certifications for travel.

Our team will only recommend vaccinations based on the individual's requirements, the itinerary of the traveller, their health status, when the benefit of the vaccine outweighs the associated risk of complications arising from vaccine side effects, and when the risk of disease and illness is indicated. Book your travel vaccination in Canberra with the Travel Doctor-TMVC team before your next trip!

Education and advice

Our travel health professionals are highly skilled in travel medicine and understand how to keep travellers safe, wherever their destination. We have access to up-to-date country-specific information that details the current risk of any disease, illness, or travel threat that could impact your trip.

We provide you with all information relevant to your itinerary and the regions you are visiting. Furthermore, we provide tailored education on how to travel based on your individual health status.  Whether you are travelling for work, pregnant, travelling with children, disabled, or a mature traveller, we can provide you with the information, tips, and tools you need to keep you safe overseas.

Medication

Our travel medicine practitioners prescribe prescription medications to treat several travellers' illnesses, including malaria, schistosomiasis, travellers' diarrhoea, jetlag, and allergies, among others. Additionally, depending on your individual health status and itinerary, our doctors can prescribe prevention medications, including those that inhibit acute mountain sickness (AMS) and malaria preventative measures.

Post-travel support

Our clinic staff provide consultations and medical support for any traveller experiencing complications following travel. With extensive experience in managing and reporting post-travel illness and disease, we conduct pathology testing to identify the type of illness affecting the traveller and, if required, can refer you to an appropriate specialist for treatment and monitoring.
